Maple Shade Man Faces Child Pornography Charges; Defendant is also accused of having sex with dogs

Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw and Maple Shade Police Chief Christopher J. Fletcher announced that a 26-year-old Maple Shade man has been charged with possession and distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).

Hunter Roy was arrested May 8 and lodged in the Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly pending a detention hearing in Superior Court. The charges against Roy include two counts of Distribution of CSAM (First and Third Degrees), Possession of CSAM (Second Degree), Possession of CSAM with Intent to Distribute (Third Degree), Debauching the Morals of a Child (Third Degree), and Possession of Narcotics (Third Degree).

Multiple electronic devices were seized during the execution of a search warrant at his residence and will be analyzed by the BCPO High-Tech Crimes Unit. The case will then be prepared for presentation to a grand jury for possible indictment.

The investigation began after the Prosecutor’s Office received information from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children concerning Roy’s online activities. The investigation revealed that Roy distributed more than 9,000 files depicting the sexual exploitation or abuse of a child, and that Roy was communicating in a sexual manner with an underage boy to whom he sent files containing CSAM.

The investigation further revealed that Roy made recordings of himself engaging in sexual acts with a Rottweiler and another smaller dog, then traded them online for videos of others having sex with dogs. For that offense, Roy was charged with Animal Cruelty – Sexual Abuse (Fourth Degree).

The investigation was conducted by the Prosecutor’s Office High-Tech Crimes Unit, with assistance from the Maple Shade Police Department, the Union Beach Borough Police Department and United States Homeland Security Investigations – Cherry Hill Office. The lead investigator is BCPO Detective Tiffany Lenart. Roy will be prosecuted by the BCPO Special Victims Unit.

The Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office is a member of the New Jersey Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
