Chief of Investigations Anthony J. Luyber

Anthony J. Luyber was promoted to Chief of Investigations for the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office on December 31, 2025, bringing more than two decades of distinguished law enforcement experience at the county and state levels. Throughout his career, Chief Luyber has led complex investigations involving homicides, gun violence, special victims, public corruption, and other high-profile and critical incidents.

He has held progressive supervisory and command roles within the Prosecutor’s Office, including Detective Lieutenant and Detective Sergeant assignments overseeing Major Crimes, Special Victims, Special Investigations, Megan’s Law, Financial Crimes, and trial support operations.

His leadership has contributed to enhanced investigative effectiveness, strengthened interagency collaboration, and measurable improvements in public safety outcomes.

Prior to joining the Prosecutor’s Office, Chief Luyber served with the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice and the Office of Counter-Terrorism, where he investigated public corruption, professional standards matters, terrorism-related intelligence, and statewide criminal offenses.

His experience includes presenting cases to the State Grand Jury, coordinating closely with prosecutors, implementing Attorney General mandates, and managing sensitive internal affairs and use-of-force reviews.

Chief Luyber holds a Bachelor of Arts in Law and Justice from Rowan University and is widely respected for his commitment to professionalism, accountability, and the development of strong investigative and supervisory teams.

A Burlington County resident his entire life, Chief Luyber is a native of Florence Township, where his family established a strong history of leadership in the John A. Roebling steel company, which constructed the Brooklyn Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridge, among other notable spans.
