Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina announced that a Lumberton man was sentenced today in Superior Court to 20 years in New Jersey state prison for stabbing two New York City men, one fatally, during a street fight in Lumberton in February 2018.
Supreme Life, 57, of the first block of Coriander Drive, must serve 85 percent of the term before becoming eligible for parole, under the conditions imposed by the Hon. Charles A. Delehey, J.S.C.
A jury found Life guilty in March of Passion Provocation Manslaughter (Second Degree) for the fatal stabbing of Moriah Walker, 26, of Brooklyn, and Attempted Murder (First Degree) for the attack on Raheem Williams, 23, of Queens.
Judge Delehey imposed consecutive sentences of seven years for the Passion Provocation Manslaughter conviction and 13 years for the Attempted Murder.
Life’s son, Antoine Ketler, 34, was also charged in connection with the incident but was found not guilty by the same jury.
The charges stem from an argument following the Super Bowl on February 4, 2018 that led to a street fight outside of Life’s residence. Life was not acquainted with his victims, who were attending a party a few doors away on the same street.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant Prosecutor Bob Van Gilst, supervisor of the BCPO Major Crimes Unit – Violent Crimes Section.
The investigation was conducted by the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office and the Lumberton Township Police Department. The lead investigators were BCPO Detective Brian Miller and Lumberton Township Police Detective Sean Tait. The lead Crime Scene Unit investigator was BCPO Detective Tim Horne.
