Grand Jury Returns Murder Indictment Against Lumberton Father and Son

Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina announced that a Lumberton man and his son were indicted today for the fatal stabbing of a New York City man during a fight earlier this year in Lumberton Township in which another man was also wounded.

Supreme Life, 56, and Antoine Ketler, 33, of the first block of Coriander Drive, were indicted by a Grand Jury on one count each of Murder (First Degree) and Attempted Murder (First Degree). Life was also indicted on two counts of Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose (Third Degree) and one count of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (Fourth Degree).

The indictment was returned today and signed by Burlington County First Assistant Prosecutor Philip S. Aronow. An arraignment will be held soon in Superior Court in Mount Holly.

The charges stem from an incident on the night of February 4 during which Life and Ketler fought with two men in the street. The victims, Moriah Walker, 26, of Brooklyn, and Raheem Williams, 23, of Queens, were stabbed during the fight and taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden.

Walker was pronounced dead approximately five hours later, and Williams underwent surgery and was later discharged.

The investigation revealed that Life possessed a knife during the fight and stabbed both Walker and Williams.

The investigation was conducted by detectives from the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office and the Lumberton Township Police Department. The lead investigators are BCPO Major Crimes Unit Detective Brian Miller and Lumberton Township Police Detective Sean Tait.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant Prosecutor Bob VanGilst, supervisor of the BCPO Major Crimes Unit.

An indictment is merely an accusation.
Defendants are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty.
