Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw and City of Burlington Police Chief Ryan P. Elbertson announced that a 38-year-old man was fatally shot early Sunday morning in the New Yorkshire section of the City of Burlington.
Officers from the City of Burlington Police Department responded to the area of Earl and Clarkson streets just after 5:30 a.m. on June 8 for a report of shots fired and discovered an adult male on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. Derrick Adams, a City resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.
No arrests have been made. An autopsy performed by Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood declared the death a homicide due to multiple gunshot wounds.
Police are seeking details from the public to assist with the investigation, which is being conducted by the Prosecutor’s Office and the City of Burlington Police Department, with assistance from the Willingboro Township Police Department.
