Willingboro Man Fatally Shot at Palmyra House Party


PALMYRA BOROUGH – Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Palmyra Borough Police Chief Scott Pearlman announced today that a 19-year-old Willingboro man was fatally shot last night at a house party.

Police were called to the 500 block of West 5th Street at approximately 11:15 p.m. and discovered that the victim, Jonte Rice, had been shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to Cooper University Medical Center in Camden.

No arrests have been made. The preliminary investigation has determined the shooting to be an isolated event. There is no reason for members of the general public to be concerned about their safety in connection with this incident.

An autopsy will be performed by Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood.

The investigation is being conducted by the Prosecutor’s Office and the Palmyra Borough Police Department. The lead investigators are BPCO Detective Mel Rogers and Palmyra Borough Police Department Detective Arek Arargil.
