Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw announced that a 30-year-old Riverside Township man has been charged with possessing Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).
Brandon Troughton, 30, was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Third Degree), for knowingly possessing images depicting the sexual exploitation of a child. He was taken into custody at his residence on July 2 and lodged in the Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly. He was released following a first appearance in Superior Court. The case will now be prepared for presentation to a grand jury for possible indictment.
The investigation began after the BCPO High-Tech Crimes Unit received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children concerning Troughton’s online activities. The investigation revealed that Troughton had accessed CSAM images and saved them on a personal electronic device.
The investigation was conducted by the BCPO High-Tech Crimes Unit, with assistance executing a search warrant at Troughton’s residence from United States Homeland Security Investigations – Cherry Hill Office, and the Riverside Township Police Department. The lead investigator is BCPO Detective Jillian Marin.
Troughton will be prosecuted by the BCPO Special Victims Unit.
All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
