Public’s Help Sought with Willingboro Hit and Run that Left Man Dead

Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina is asking for the public’s assistance to determine who was driving a vehicle that struck and killed a man in his 30s early yesterday morning in the Garfield Park section of Willingboro Township.

The investigation, which is being conducted by the Prosecutor’s Office, revealed that the collision occurred just after 2 a.m. on Garfield Drive near Eastbrook Lane. The victim, whose name is being withheld at this time, was deceased when he was discovered a short time later.

An autopsy performed by the Burlington County Medical Examiner’s Office determined the death was due to massive internal injuries.

“This case is being actively investigated, and we are appealing to anyone who has relevant information to contact us immediately,” Prosecutor Coffina said. “It’s likely that somebody out there knows the details of what occurred, along with the identity of the driver who struck this man and fled without seeking assistance, leaving him in the roadway to die.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Burlington County Central Communications at 609-265-7113, or send an email to tips@co.burlington.nj.us.
