Man Faces Additional Charges of Sexual Assault of a Minor

MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. – Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Burlington Township Director of Public Safety Bruce Painter announced that additional charges have been filed against a Burlington Township man who was arrested last week for sexually assaulting a minor.

The new charges against William L. Sanchez-Monllor, 36, of the 600 block of Neck Road, include six counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault (First Degree) and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Second Degree).

Sanchez-Monllor, who is employed as a law enforcement officer with the Trenton Police Department, was initially charged with two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault (First Degree), two counts of Sexual Assault (Second Degree) and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Second Degree).

The most recent charges involve a separate victim, who was also a minor. As with the original victim, the abuse occurred on multiple occasions in Burlington County. Details of the assaults against both victims were sealed by a Superior Court judge.

A detention hearing will be held later this week. The case will then be prepared for presentation to a Grand Jury for possible indictment.

Sanchez-Monllor will be prosecuted by Assistant Prosecutor Stephen Eife, supervisor of the BCPO Major Crimes Unit, Special Victims Section.

The case is being investigated by detectives from the Burlington Township Police Department and the Prosecutor’s Office. The lead investigators are BCPO Detective Tony Luyber and Burlington Township Detective Ruben Ortiz-Cruz.
